With 5 losses by 2 runs or less since the beginning of April, Patterson Mill head coach Matt Roseland had to find what was missing to help his team turn around these close games. With four straight victories and a chance to play in the 1A state final, something has clicked with the Huskies that led the team to be the only 8 seed to win their state quarterfinal matchup. Pitching seems to have become an identity for the team, allowing 1 run or less in three of their four victories. Timely hitting and not limiting away free bases via walks and defensive errors has forced opponents to earn every run. The Huskies have found a repeatable formula that if it continues, could lead to a run that will live long in Patterson Mill memory.
