🥍 🥍 DENABOWL - BIG ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY LAX RIVALRY | Chesapeake vs Northeast In all the rival games I’ve been to, this is probably one of the closest fought of them all. Pulled up to the DENABOWL, rivalry game between Anne Arundel County’s Chesapeake Cougars and the Northeast Eagles. Out the gate, Chesapeake put points on the board. In the 2nd quarter, Northeast answered right back tying the game. By halftime Cougars were up by 1. However, this game had some tough looking checks, and refs did and at times didn’t throw flags. You could hear the trash talk between these guys. BOTH were passionate in playing at a high level in this game. Cougars were able to win by two, but I wouldn’t say it was easily given. CONCLUSION, one of the BEST RIVALRY games MFV has witnessed in a while. BIG SHOUTS to the COUGARS and EAGLES. RESPECT to you guys, you left everything on the field as a good competition should be. SPECIAL THANKS to Northeast Athletics for allowing us to film. Wishing all you guys much success in the future. Enjoy the highlights Final Score: COUGARS - 5 EAGLES - 3 👀 MFV U📺🔗⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBglHaUaDNM

Came out to Severn Run High School for a varsity LAX game between the Old Mill Patriots and Severn Run Wolves. Severn Run, being a new 3A school in Anne Arundel County, and Old Mill moving to the 3A because some of transitioned to Severn Run; this matchup had good vibes all around. The game was tight in the first half, however in the second Old Mill pulled away with the lead. Great game, hoping to see the further success of these schools. BIG SHOUTS to the WOLVES & PATRIOTS, keep shining and grinding!!! Enjoy the highlights. Final Score: PATRIOTS - 11 WOLVES - 5 👀 MFV U📺🔗⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYrWy6QQAAI

Coach Phil Thompson ends up in a familiar position as his young team improved every game of the season and ended up winning their third straight City title on Saturday. Midfield leader Datris Moore stole the show with 8 goals as the Eagle midfield proved unable to contain him. After a 15 -12 victory on April 18th, Coach Thompson must be proud that his team stayed focused and won by an even wider margin. Poly will be seen as the favorites to advance in the North II division of the state tournament. They will face the winner of Digital Harbor and Mervo in the second round. ACCE has now lost 3 straight and will look to bounce back in the first round of the 1A tournament against Lake Clifton, the team they last defeated. They will need to use that game to get back on the track to reach the latter stages of the state tournament. Check out the tournament brackets in the Zone for all the matchups and congratulations to Poly on their three-peat!
Poly will take on ACCE in one of the most important matchups in the city this year on Thursday. After a rough opening to the season, Poly has rebounded to win 3 conference games in a row with a victory against fierce rival City. ACCE has carried their dominance from last year into 2024, with Forest Park being the only city team to not fall to ACCE by double digits. Coach Phil Thompson will be preparing his young team for their biggest test to date. Poly has had numerous underclassmen step up and play bigger roles following their city championship, and they will need to take their game to another level to come away with a win. After a 23-0 victory in their last game, Coach Lantz Carter will make sure the team gives Poly the proper focus and respect necessary to continue their dominant streak. Coach Lantz and his staff are implementing a strategy that must break through a strong Poly defense. Join CSZ at 3:45 PM on Thursday for this all-important matchup!
With many seniors graduating after Poly's second consecutive city title victory in 2023, Coach Phil Thompson had to prepare underclassmen who played little to no role in previous years to defend a highly competitive championship. He has relied on captains Datris Moore and Bowen Vallery, who have taken leadership roles both on and off the field. Coach Phil knows what it takes to reach his goals, and he is looking to instill a competitive spirit in his squad that is necessary to reach them. Poly play Forest Park, a team that may be standing in their way at the end of the season. Stay in the Zone for the results of this important clash!
Poly prevailed against City once again as the volume of Poly's shots overwhelmed City's defense. Both goalies made tremendous saves, but Poly's swarming defense gave City less opportunities to score.
