Noah Thomas shined today as he went the distance earning the 3 hit shut out only allowing 2bbs with 4ks. After stranding the base loaded in the second inning, Logan Scheeler led off the 3rd with a base hit to left. Stabile followed with a single to make it 1st and 3rd. Tre McInnes came up big with a double to center to make it second and third. After a Hemelt hit by pitch, Brycen Hunter came up with the big 2 strike 2 rbi line drive to center to plate two more runs for the Huskies. That’s all Thomas would need, as he cruised to a 93 pitch complete game.
The Huskies came out firing with a lead off double by Scheeler, an infield hit by Stabile and an RBI double by McInnes and RBI’s by Hemelt, Thomas and Hunter made it a 5-0 lead. Rising Sun battled back to make it 5-3. Brycen Hunter had a huge 2 run homer to left center to make it a 7-3 game. The Huskies would take on runs in the last three innings to extend their lead further with RBI hits by Teal, Hunter and Stabile. t was a big day for Junior, Kevin Hardisky. With a win and get in scenario for the final spot in the UCBAC playoffs, down 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Hardisky woke us up in the bottom of the second inning with a 350+ Homerun to left field to tie the game at 3. John Teal followed that with a triple of his own. Teal would score on the next pitch by a Frankie Culotta rbi squeeze to make it 4-3. We would go on to plate 3 more runs that inning for a 7 spot. Rising Sun responded with 2 in the top of the third to make it 7-5 but we were able to answer with two more of our own in the bottom of the third. Eight of our 9 batters recorded a hit in this one. Tre McInnes had 3 rbi’s, Brycen Hunter had 2 and Hardisky with the big day added 5. It was only fitting with two out in the bottom of the fifth and the ending run at third base, that Hardisky was in the spot to end the game and he delivered with an RBI line drive to center to walk it off. Brycen Hunter gets the win and Peter Weber gets the save.
Brycen Hunter had the big day we needed. After another slow start with early errors, we found ourselves down 3 runs. Great response today after a tough loss yesterday and being down 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Brycen Hunter got his first win of the year working out of big jams in the first three innings. He kept us in it and then we were able to explode with a 9-run bottom of the fourth inning. Tre McInnes came through with another big hit to plate three runners to start our scoring off. Mason Hemelt had a big day at the plate going 3 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Peter Weber pitched a scoreless inning and got the game ending sacrifice fly scoring Marly Branch from third to end the game.

Two out rbi hits by Mason Hemelt and Noah Thomas gave the Huskies a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth inning. Logan Scheeler came on and pitched a scoreless sixth. In the bottom of the 7th, we could not close it out as Jurry earned a lead off infield singe, a double by Caleb Potter who pitched a complete game 100 pitch victory doubled to make it second and third. An intentional walk was called to load the bases and unfortunately another walk tied the game followed by an infield single by Monaghan led to the 3-2 walk off win for Elkton.
This next week will go a long way in determining who will earn the top spot in Cecil County this season. Elkton, Harford Tech, C. Milton Wright, and Fallston all have opportunities as we reach the latter stages. Elkton has won 5 straight games to find themselves at 9-3. The Golden Elks lost to Harford Tech 6-5 in April. The two teams will rematch on Friday and the winner will take sole possession of first place. Fallston and C. Milton Wright play a double-header on the 29th to make up an earlier postponed game. Depending on the results of the Elkton and Harford Tech game, the end of this slew of games can result in a variety of ties. Stay in the Zone to see who ends up in first place!
Travis Loewe pitched well. A few hits to lead off the fifth followed by a few weeks and a big single by McDowell gave Rising Sun a 2-0 Lead. An error helped extended it to 4-0. With two outs in the top of the sixth, the Huskies fought back with four consecutive hits with two outs including doubles by McInnes, Hemelt and Thomas and RBI single by Myers to make it 4-3. Noah Thomas gave us a chance by getting us out of that big inning by Rising Sun and holding them down in the 7th.
THE SCORE OF THIS GAME WAS 11-7
The score for this game was Bel Air 12 to Perryville 7
A very solid high school baseball game by both teams. A few big situational moments offensively and defensively was the difference. Caleb Daniele drew a one out walk in the third, A HBP and a single got him to third. Pinch Runner Zach Concini tagged and scored on Hemelts sac fly to go up 1-0. A lead off single in the bottom of the fourth for polarki turned into a big out as he tried to stretch into a double but Jonah Vujanic threw him out at second. The next hitter hit a double that would have scored him. Shertzer ead off with a singe in the fifth and sole second, Vujanic sacrificed him to third and he eventually scored on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Hemelt scored on a double steal attempt that caused a balk to make it 3-0. M Williams lead off the 7th with a double but Hemet was able to retire the next three. It was a great effort by Mike today who came back after starting a few innings for us on Saturday. Happy for this young group who set a goal to win this game when the season started. We are excited to set new goals moving forward. countysports.zone/scores/view/KGd8T9nF8KnIQDN64bu7B

From Coach Dorsett, "Behind the strong pitching effort of Senior Dylan Nickle, the Panther Varsity Baseball Team won its 3rd game in a row defeating county rival Elkton 7 -1 in 7 innings. Dylan allowed no runs as the Panther defense held Elkton scoreless during his outing. Coming in relief of Nickle was Junior James Able who allowed one run and finishing the game was Senior Drake Gividen.
