A WHITE OUT NIGHT AT AACS 9-8-2026 📝 Karsten Miller (MFVAllSportsNetwork) After witnessing some of what was an awesome championship season last year with the Annapolis Area Christian School Eagles, we at MFV All Sports Network were excited to get a glimpse of how this young vibrant team was doing. Looking at their schedule we noticed they’ve been matching up vs some Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) teams, and their opponent this night was no small foe. The Paul VI Panthers were 2025 WCAC conference champs and fresh off a victory against Good Counsel. So the atmosphere was set for a huge matchup. WHAT WAS GLARINGLY OBVIOUS!!!! The Eagles are still that young team of ladies on fire. They have great hitters and setters, and a wonderful libero controlling those passes and digging. All-around this team is amazing. That’s without say that the Panthers challenged the Eagles on all fronts, even winning a set 25-17. The Paul VI team did a good job exploiting weaknesses in the Eagles defense while AACS rallied back during critical moments in the sets, and eventually won the match 3-1. THE FUTURE What stands ahead is truly bright for the Eagles and the Panthers. Continue grinding and pushing through every limitation of your successes. You all performed with excellent, and was truly proud to witness a great game. MUCH SUCCESS TO THE BOTH OF YOU!!!!!  MFV of MFVAllSportsNetwork travels out to Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) in Severn, Maryland for their senior night varsity volleyball game between St. Paul’s School for Girls & AACS Eagles, AACS has only one senior, Sydney Anderson, and her favorite color is orange. So we decorate ourselves with orange in honor of Sydney. The stage had been set for a beautiful night of varsity volleyball and recognition. SPSG vs AACS SET RECAP 
 SET 1: GATORS - 17 EAGLES - 25

 With the St. Paul’s Gators serving first, this set was a back-and-forth, between the two teams. A lot of good sets and then kills. The pin hitters on both squads were very elite. They knew where to direct the hit to cause the other to be inoperable to save. It really wasn’t until the high teen scores, AACS was able to pull away with a sizable lead. 

 SET 2: GATORS - 25 EAGLES - 22 Eagles served first in this round. Again it was several back-and-forth, as each team matched one another’s energy (ex. If the Eagles won points with a kill, the Gators would respond and vice-versa). The pin hitters for the Gators took advantage of hitting in certain places where it made it difficult for the Eagles to recover. It was in the beginning twenties where St. Paul’s stretched their lead to win the set. SET 3: GATORS - 15 EAGLES - 25 & SET 4: GATORS - 14 EAGLES - 25

 These two I will cover together as they were pretty much similar. Both started with a d beginning, however AACS was able to maintain a good lead on their opponent each set. It wasn’t St. Paul’s stepped off the gas. I actually commented to my son it was the first time I had seen the Eagles play a team of such high caliber. The AACS Eagles were able to make good plays at the right time and get the victory in the last two sets. HONORING THEIR SENIOR PLAYER

 The highlight of the night was about honoring the Eagles only senior player, Sydney Anderson. It started with those encouraged by her or who had witnessed her legacy handing her a flower. Then her coach began to talk about her impact. I think any player would want their coach to say the things said about Sydney. Made MillerFlow want to cry. To sum it up, Anderson had a positivity about her that was contagious. It inspired her teammates to want to mimic her character. She was going to missed but definitely remembered. Proud to hear about her legacy as one both inspirational and Godly. SHINE ON SYDNEY!!!!


 TO THE GATORS, while the outcome is not what was wanted, you guys are a great team. You have awesome intensity. Your communication is champion. Your ability to save and get the ball back over to the opponent was amazing. KEEP STRIVING FOR GREATNESS, you ladies are on the right path. Be encouraged.


 TO THE EAGLES, congratulations on another victory. I am speechless at times because you are such a young team yet play like you’ve known each other for years. CONTINUE developing and applying the values your coaches and Sydney have instilled in you. Go Eagles!!!!!

🆚 Mount de Sales Academy x AACS 
 📍 Catonsville, Md - Mount De Sales Academy

 GAME RECAP
 Traffic was a beast coming up 695, which again caused me to miss another JV coverage. One of these days, I am going to make it out. Anyways, finding my way in to the gymnasium at Mount De Sales Academy, I was intrigued to see how the AACS Eagles were developing from our last coverage when they faced Glenelg Country school. Also wanted to discover the type of team Mount De Sales Academy (MSDA) would be. So thankful I was able to capture this game. The stage was totally ready for these two teams to battle it out. Could AACS keep moving forward as the number one team amongst their division? Would the Sailors of Mount De Sales going take a stand in their home arena? Let’s discover how each set went.

 SET 1: EAGLES - 25 SAILORS - 11 The Sailors started serving first. The serve was absolutely beautiful. The Eagles setter and hitter answered back with a quick spike that made MFV want to move out the way. I think as fans, we fail to realize the athletic ability, timing, and communication it takes to set, then spike the volleyball hoping efforts are unstoppable. The Eagles, clearly were the dominant force winning this set, however the Sailors did have some good runs to catch back up. SET 2: EAGLES - 25 SAILORS - 17
 The AACS Eagles served first for match two. They tried to establish early a rhythm. Sailors stopped that from happening on a few occasions. Mount De Sales made some critical saves from attempted spikes while adding points when it seemed AACS was trying to determine how to stay on pace. Overall, this match was closer than what the final score may indicate. 

 SET 3: EAGLES - 25 SAILORS - 11
 I apologize, missing the opening serve from the Sailors. AACS again tried setting the precedence with an early lead. The beginning was a close fight with MSDA tying things up. Soon, AACS would pull away with the lead, which was difficult to catch in the end. 


 I am definitely not disappointed in what I saw with the SAILORS. You guys are a wonderful team. Great communication and I enjoyed watching you lift each other up when mistakes were made. Be proud of yourselves and continue fighting. Listen to all of what your coaches instruct you to do. EAGLES, you continue to amaze. Your setting and spiking is grand. Very impressive is your communication and when you guys get in to a rhythm; absolutely unstoppable. I can’t boast enough of the improvements made since the first time covering. TO BOTH TEAMS, you guys are excellent. MUCH SUCCESS to you as you continue traveling through the 25-26 season. Thank you for all that you do. Appreciate the hard work you ladies put in. Bel Air, MD – Bel Air High School will host an exciting Varsity Girls Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, September 20, 2025, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The one-day event will showcase top high school volleyball talent from across Maryland, bringing together eight competitive teams. The field includes: Atholton (Howard County) Bel Air (Harford County) Good Counsel (Montgomery County) Howard (Howard County) Patterson Mill (Harford County) Roland Park (Baltimore City) South River (Anne Arundel County) Winter Mill (Carroll County) Fans can expect a full day of exciting matchups as these teams compete for the tournament crown. Teams will play a round-robin in pools of four. The top 4 teams will advance to the Gold Bracket, and the bottom 4 teams will advance to a Silver Bracket. Both brackets will be single elimination.  🆚 AACS x Glenelg Country 

 In what MFV thought to be a scrimmage discovered this game was an actual season match. The AACS Eagles traveled to Howard County to face the Glenelg Country School Dragons. The Dragons were hyped up, ready to defend their home turf. The Eagles, were ready to see if their #4 preseason ranking by the Baltimore Sun would show itself true by getting a road victory. The stage was set, let’s see how these ladies executed on the court.

 GAME RECAP
 
 The first match, the Eagles began with a sizable lead, seeing a few strong spikes. But Glenelg Country did not fold, and made a good run to catch up. However, AACS established their lead back finishing with a round one win.

 The second set, it started like the first, then Glenelg made another run this time getting even closer to a tie. Again, though, AACS was able to pull away and won. Now, the third match started completely different, this time the dragons establishing the lead. Annapolis Area answered back and the game was tied. This time, the Eagles were not able to pull away as the Dragons came close to evening the score. Glenelg made some key plays to put them close. However, the Eagles gathered back their rhythm and completed the final match with victory.

Overall, these teams can be confident of their future performance. Hope each team works on their weakness and capitalize on their strengths. Much success to the Eagles and Dragons.
