www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPswXAZODn0 🥍 🥍 1ST LAX GAME OF 2026 @ GOPHER NATION 🆚 Wilde Lake vs Glen Burnie 📍Glen Burnie HS, Glen Burnie, Md 📝 Kmillz (MFVAllSportsNetwork) Walking on to the Glen Burnie High School field, the Wilde Lake and Glen Burnie varsity lacrosse were already warming up. The weather was in the 50’s, however being I was just getting over a cold, felt more like the 30’s. The Gophers looked ready. The Wildecats seemed fully charged. It was the perfect atmosphere for some high school lacrosse competition. 1ST HALF - The Gophers started off strong and within a few minutes had the first points of the game in their favor. However, Wilde Laken did answered back. The game was tied 2-2 for a bit, until Lake scored putting themselves ahead by 1. They went in to the half leading 3-2. 2ND HALF - This half is where the Wildecats began to pull away. They added four more goals to their lead being able to manuver down field and score quickly. Their attack strategy in the first half GB figured out. Wilde Lake seemed to have changed the pace helping them score faster. However, in the fourth, the Gophers started to make a comeback. Seemingly taking more shots helped cut down Wildecats lead. They fell short by one point. Their effort was tremendous!!! Hats off to them. Congratulations to the Wildecats on their victory. Keep working and grinding Gophers!!!

Final game score: WILDECATS - 7 GOPHERS - 6. Special thanks to Glen Burnie HS and the AD staff.

🥍 🥍 ROAD TO STEVENSON
CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH 2025 BOYS
Urbana vs Broadneck Another great rematch game at MPSSAA BOYS LAX States between two teams I love, the Urbana Hawks and the Broadneck Bruins. If you were expecting a high pound-for-poind scoring match, this was not the game.. It must be noted these were two top defensive teams in the state. They both specialized in keeping teams from scoring and their goal save rate was exception. I believe both have goals allowed around 3.0. So the anticipation for MFV was which team would be bullied into giving up points the . I expected a low score matchup.

And it was, although the Hawks did have a good lead before the Bruins scored their fist points. And although Broadneck held the Hawks from having a sizable spread, the Hawks still sealed the deal and won back-to-back state titles BIG LOVE to BROADNECK, as we are proud of you!!!n. You represented AA County well, and wish you much more success in the future. BIG CONGRATS to URBANA, proud you guys were able to have back-to-back championships. Keep striving for success and keep shining. Great season, and enjoy this Wonderfull moment.
 Final Score: Hawks - 5 Bruins - 2 👀 MFV U📺🔗⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️www.youtube.com/watch?v=Djo0P-Y892c

🥍 🥍 ROAD TO STEVENSON
CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH 2025
Urbana vs Broadneck Two great girls lacrosse teams faced off in the 4A Girls LAX Championship; The Urbana Hawks vs the Broadneck Bruins. Urbana looking to even the score from last year, while Broadneck sought a back-to-back victory. This had the makings of a beautiful finals rematch. Glad to the weather turned out to be great.

Starting off, Urbana took a 4pt lead, and that left the Bruins fighting through the half until they were able to tie things up heading into the half. 2nd half, the Hawks led by a point, however this time Broadneck came back and obtained the lead, ultimately capturing a back-to-back state victory!!! BIG SHOUTS to the Urbana HAWKS, you guys played with passion and fire. I know the results are not what you’d prefer, proud of you ladies. You had a successful season. CONGRATULATIONS to the BRUINS for another state championship victory. Your hard work and dedication paid off!! So proud of you. Enjoy this success and continuing shining for your community and Anne Arundel County.

On the boy's side, the matchup between Broadneck and Urbana was far more physical and low-scoring, as in the first half there were more yellow cards (six) than goals (five). But in the end, Urbana was able to win 7-5. This was a close game the whole time, but the deciding factor was Urbana having better possessions where they were able to get into great shooting positions. TJ Harne was the one who benefited most from these sets as he scored five of his team's goals thanks to a lot of sets where he got the chance to run from behind the goal to either beat the defender and score or just draw an extra man to him to set up a teammate. Furthermore, a special mention must be given to their sophomore goalkeeper Zach Thayer, who had an amazing game in the net, making several crucial saves down the stretch to secure the win for the Hawks. Broadneck lost this game due to a stagnant offense that couldn’t get enough good looks at goal, and the few they had were either saved or launched out of play. There were a lot of possessions where Broadneck would get possession either through a faceoff or a turnover and would pass the ball around with little to nothing going on offensively. Eventually, a player would get into isolation and take a shot, but that's not a game plan that will guarantee success, especially at this level. The most glaring example of this was the last three minutes of the fourth quarter, the game was 6-5 and Broadneck needed a goal to tie the contest. Three shots sailed out of play, and despite Urbana being a man down with 45 seconds left due to a rough check, the Bruins still couldn’t secure the game-tying goal. With 18 seconds left, Urbana got the ball back and instead of holding up and playing keep away Harne sealed the game with another goal and capped off an undefeated season with a state championship. An undefeated season is not an easy thing to do in any sport, but Urbana was a team that was willing to put in the required effort to have such an impressive season. “These guys were up to the challenge,” said Urbana coach Gavin Donahue. “We have five A.M. practices, we coach them hard, and they just bought in and bought in and gelled like no team I’ve ever coached”.

Severna Park and Broadneck met Friday night in a battle of Anne Arundel County heavyweights, which saw the Falcons pull off an upset win, 11-4. The Falcons' Tim Sullivan finished with four goals, while John Burkhardt and Jake Fish added two goals each. Goalie Calvin Winship tallied 12 saves in a strong effort against one of the top teams in Maryland. The Bruins entered Friday's matchup on a 26-game win streak, including a championship run in 2023, but see that total reset to zero just weeks before the 2024 playoffs begin.
