On February 10th, Franklin High School wrestling closed out their home schedule in dominant fashion with a 60-22 win over Patapsco High School. From the opening matches, Franklin set the tone with aggression, control, and confidence, making it clear they wanted to end their final home appearance on a high note. One of the standout performances came from Jordan Adams, who put together a commanding win. He controlled the pace from the start, staying aggressive on offense while remaining disciplined defensively. His ability to dictate positioning and capitalize on opportunities made his match one of the most decisive of the night. What stood out most, though, was the overall team performance. Up and down the lineup, Franklin wrestlers executed well, whether it was securing pins, winning decisions, or simply battling through tough positions to earn points for the team. The consistency across weight classes showed how prepared and focused they were. A lot of that comes back to the leadership of Coach Rudo, whose game planning and in-match adjustments had the team ready. The discipline, effort, and composure on the mat reflected strong coaching and a group that bought into the system all season. With it being the final home match, the energy in the gym carried a different feeling. After the last whistle, it turned into a celebration. The team gathered together, taking in the moment and recognizing what they had built over the season. The wrestlers were smiling, laughing, and enjoying the moment together. It was more than just a win, it was a reflection of a season’s worth of hard work, growth, and team chemistry. A strong finish at home, a complete team effort, and a group that clearly takes pride in what they’ve accomplished.
On February 5th, Franklin High School faced off against Owings Mills High School for their Senior Night matchup. The atmosphere inside the building was lively from the start, as seniors Christian Leveille, Jordan Adams, and Joshua Gray stood alongside their families, taking in the applause and support from the crowd. Varsity wrestling coach Rudo took a moment to give special recognition to Joshua Gray’s mother, thanking her for the constant support she has shown the program. Her help and dedication were acknowledged as a major part of what makes Franklin Wrestling feel like a family. Once the senior recognitions concluded, the lights dimmed and the gym was illuminated by a single spotlight shining directly on the mat. The atmosphere shifted instantly, drawing all attention to the center and raising the energy to another level. As Christian took his place on the mat, the crowd erupted, a clear reflection of how supported he is within the Franklin community. Feeding off that energy, the senior dominated his match, making it look effortless as his talent and years of hard work were on full display. Using a combination of power and speed, he closed the distance with ease and capitalized on every opportunity, turning each opening into points. Every takedown was met with thunderous cheers and echoes from the crowd as he secured his win in impressive fashion. Franklin junior Bukem Ezeani wrestled with impressive technique, using his strength and length to his advantage while staying patient and in control throughout the match. He managed his stamina well, picking the right moments to attack and counter his opponent. Bukem earned a 12–2 victory, showcasing his consistency and ability to separate himself throughout the match. Senior Jordan Adam’s came out strong and wasted little time asserting himself. Using his strength and experience, he controlled the match early, keeping the action moving and putting his opponent on the defensive. His 8–1 win reflected how decisive his performance was, efficiently getting the job done. Franklin’s win that night was the result of a complete team effort, with contributions throughout the lineup and seniors setting the standard from start to finish. That collective performance sealed a 55–23 victory over Owings Mills, giving Franklin Wrestling a Senior Night win to remember.
