Richard Montgomery High School defeated John F. Kennedy High School 21–6 — margin of 15.
The Richard Montgomery varsity Girls flag football team defeated the Kennedy Cavaliers last night in a total team effort combining explosive offensive and defensive plays. The Rockets offense was led by their versatile freshman quarterback Serach Jackson, as she accomplished a rare touchdown trifecta. She opened the scoring with a pick six interception and moments later the talented diaper dandy showed why her father dubbed her Serocket as she took off on a run of 50 yds leaving several defenders grasping at air before landing in the end zone for her second touchdown. She completed her coming out party by throwing a late passing TD to savvy senior standout Ella Cummings. Fellow senior speedster Hayden Williams mixed in a couple of long rushing and passing plays to keep the chains moving. The defense controlled most of the game pressuring the Cavaliers into four interceptions. Two by Serach Jackson, one by another promising freshman Katelyn Marchetti and the cherry on top, a late interception by Ellla Cummings ending all hopes of a Cavs comeback. The Lady Rockets 1-1 now sit atop their division. Next up the Vikings of Walt Whitman.
