🏐 IT’S VOLLEY TIME @ SEVERN RUN 9-15-2026 📝 Karsten Miller (MFVAllSportsNetwork) Both South River and Severn Run’s JV/Varsity teams appeared focused when warming up. Each looking to make a statement as they’re off and running in their 2026 volleyball seasons. Why? Because they are Anne Arundel County opponents!!! School pride for county dominance stands on the line. The essence of good athletic competition was in the atmosphere. JV LEARNING To sum it up, these JV sets seemed focused on the girls getting better on both sides. South River struggled in the 1st as Severn Run broke away to a decent lead. Then on a comeback run, finished the first set 25-20. In the second set, much of the same only this time the Seahawks took the lead. The Wolves did make a run to come from behind, but the Seahawks ended up winning 25-17. VARSITY EXCELLENCE The varsity games were a great display of volleyball superiority from the Seahawks and Severn Run. The set scores do not really reflect these ladies had good communication, determination, and attention to focal points (like spotting their line-judges as a good estimation of where to hit). Again, speaking on both sides, they just played with pure excellence. Severn Run came with the dominant kills. South River showed how to attack superbly weaknesses. Great job ladies!!! WHAT TO TAKE FROM THIS!!! South River and Severn Run can look to their future with promise. Work on the improvements needed, but keep the energy of just enjoying the game (whether winning or losing). All of you displayed excellent body language throughout the games. Keep that up!!! It was an absolute joy coming out to film you. Much continued success on your season.
