On May 22, Broadneck dominate the CLASS 4A championship for a 5th time in a row, winning 8-6 over Urbana. The first quarter of the CLASS 4A championship kicked off with #18 Colby Johnson from Urbana started the game with an opening goal. Johnson later added goal 2 to the game and brought the lead up to Urbana. #11 Corra Betten continued the Urbana strong start, receiving a key pass from a penalty and allowing the nice shot to become a goal. Urbana’s speed was too much for Broadneck, allowing a 2nd goal for Beten, using her swiftness to allow a shooting lane. Broadneck finally got into the board, scoring from the penalty spot by #9 Ceci Facciponti. The first quarter ended 4-1, with Urbana defense keeping hold and carrying the lead. Broadneck shortened the Urbana lead into half minutes into the 2nd quarter, with Salisbury commit #21 Savannah Libby benefiting from key passes. Momentum was starting to turn, with Facciponti shooting a low shot from a penalty, bringing the score to 3-4. Possession was booming for Broadneck, slowly cutting down the lead and starting to strengthen their defense. In a matter of minutes, the game was tied up from an open lane shot scored by #17 Nora Lopes, who is also committed to Louisville, and tying the game to 4-4. Urbana quickly came back on top, going back up by 1 goal and securing the hat-trick for #18 Johnson. The 1st half ended with a 5-4 tight Urbana lead. The halftime break ended and the game entered the 3rd quarter, with both teams playing neck and neck. It was a goalie save frenzy for both teams, with both goalies recording 2 saves. A goal was scored for Broadneck, hoping to score the equalizer but was waived off from another overlapping penalty, keeping the score 5-4. 2nd times the charm for Broadneck, with Libby going to the penalty shot again and catching the goalie off guard, tying the game at 5-5. A crucial save came from Broad Necks' goalie Molly Robison, recording her 3 saves of the quarter. Lopes does it again, giving Broadneck their first lead of the game. The quarter ended 6-5, with Broadneck switching the lead seat. 4th quarter tensions started to kick in for both teams as soon as it began. Broadneck now started to control possession, scoring a goal from #3 Sienna Miller, bringing the lead to 7-5. Urbana was leading the game 4-0 in the 1st quarter, questioning how it all collapsed. Shooting lanes were not available for Urbana, with Broadneck strengthening up and scoring from a counter attack. Facciponti completed the transition goal, recording the hat-trick and bringing the score up to 8-5. Betten shortened the lead to 2, getting open for Urbana and having the lead be slightly smaller. Time expired as Broadneck celebrated on the field, winning their 5th straight championship title, as Broadneck completed the early comeback and won the 4A state Champions 8-6 over Urbana.

On a late April 7th evening game, The Einstein Titans dominated against the Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles in an 14-3 win. The first quarter started with Einstein starting off strong with a goal from Einstein player #13 Elena Limauro scoring off of a penalty shot from Seneca. Einstein would score another penalty shot scored by player #7 Caroline Davis, shooting at the bottom right of the crease. Einstein continued to maintain possession the entirety of the first quarter, scoring one more goal and taking a total of 9 shots, compared to Seneca's zero shot attempts. The quarter ended 3-0 with the Titans leading. Einstein continued to demonstrate a strong offense heading into the second quarter, scoring 8 additional goals with Davis and Limauro securing the hat trick. Seneca was unable to win face-offs after each Einstein Goal, with Einstein winning every single face off. Seneca was seen invisible in possession of the ball, with Einstein keeping the entire second quarter in Seneca territory. The first half ended with a score of 11-0 with Einstein being 11/21 in goals/shots while Seneca was still not able to attempt a single shot. The 2nd half started with Einstein continuing to play strong despite subbing out their starters that made a major impact earlier into the game. Limauro scored one more goal securing her fourth along with Einstein player #15 Cassidy Miller scored a goal off of a penalty shot. Despite the score being 13-0, the screaming eagles continued to hustle in at least making the deficit less embarrassing, in which they scored a goal off of a counter attack on their very first shot attempt. Most of Einstein's starters were subbed out entering the 4th quarter. The Titans played less aggressive and tested out new defensive schemes in being comfortable with a 13 point lead. Einstein player #11 Lena Fleschner, scored one more goal into the top right corner of the next in securing a brace. Seneca would also later score a goal with 5 minutes remaining but only in the matter of reducing the deficit. Einstein finished the game winning 14-2. The Einstein Titans move up to 4-2 and will face Blair for their next game at home as the Seneca Screaming Eagles move down to 1-5 and will face BCC at home for their next match up.

The girls lacrosse team for the Einstein titans beat the Clarksburg coyotes after an intense 6 overtime period match, winning 6-5 after the end of extended time. The match started with a very fast Clarksburg goal from Clarksburg player #18 Caitlyn Choy shooting the lacrosse ball into the right corner of the net. The short lead was pulled back with an Einstein goal from Einstein player #11 Lena Fleschner, after a strong swifty spin move in getting towards the net. The 2nd quarter remained slow with both defenses playing strong within the creese, with Einstein playing double players onto clarksburg, prevent them from scoring. This would lead to an advantage with Einstein scoring from Elena Limauro from a penalty shot. The first half ended 2-1 with Einstein leading. Entering the 2nd half, Clarksburg started showing more momentum than Einstein and scored 2 goals, 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. These were once again scored by Choy, securing the hat trick early. Clarksburg continued to contain the ball more than Einstein, but had a crucial mistake when one of the players had it fall from the stick, leading to an Einstein goal. The 4th quarter contained the most madness within the game, having a tied game with both teams showing strong offensive consistency but couldn’t take advantage of shots. Clarksburg would take the lead again with 6 minutes remaining, until Fleshcner pulled the lead back in scoring her brace. The Titans later scored a strong goal from player #17 Jocelyn Kay, after finding space on the right side of the creese and shooting it in. This lead shortly ended after Clarksburg scored with one minute remaining, taking the game to overtime. Both teams played a fair two periods of overtime but couldn’t score a game winner, the refs were seen discussing at the field and decided to keep the game going in sudden death. This lasted a total of 6th overtime periods, with both girl Lacrosse goalies making crucial saves in keeping their team alive. Einstein had the upper hand of course, scoring the game winner with 1:13 remaining in the 6th period of OT. Einstein Girls move to a 1-1 record after an intense home opener while Clarksburg moves to an 0-2 record.

The first game was an entertaining one, as the Broadneck Bruins played the Urbana Hawks in the MPSSAA 4A state championship. After four hard-fought quarters, the Bruins won 10-9 and claimed their fourth state title in a row. This game was decided by which team adjusted more effectively to the other. The first quarter started poorly for the Hawks as they were down 5-2. This is largely due to Broadneck getting into offensive sets where cutters were getting wide-open and scoring. But Urbana was able to keep the game close thanks to attackers successfully beating their defenders in 1v1s. From this quarter until late in the third Broadneck was held scoreless, Urbana was a lot more attentive and aggressive on defense to prevent players from getting wide open again. Combine this with Hawks players drawing fouls and scoring penalties and the game was tied at five midway through the third quarter. With momentum in the Hawks' favor, Broadneck needed to produce goals and fast. Their gameplan of passing around the field to open up scoring chances wasn’t working so instead they used counterattacks and fastbreaks for their offense. No.9 Ceci Facciponti was the one to break the deadlock, as she darted down the field before the defense could get set up to put the Bruins up one with 12 minutes to play. A quick goal by Urbana was countered with three more from Broadneck, as the Bruins were running down the field and moving off the ball with far more urgency. Urbana scored two more to put themselves back in striking position, but No.2 Avery Katzen emerged to score an unexpected goal to seal this game for the Bruins. Urbana scored one more but couldn’t get the ball back with a minute remaining to potentially tie the game, the final result ended with Broadneck celebrating yet another state championship. This game could have gone either way but Broadneck was able to edge it out thanks to a few timely goals and not getting down on themselves despite being down for the majority of the contest, this win continues an incredible championship run, but that is not what they think about coming into each year. “I hope this translates into a work ethic a culture a team that doesn't come out looking at how do we get to the state championship, we’re looking at how we get to know our team how we can be the best team we can possibly be” were the words Broadneck coach Katy Kelley used to describe their mindset going into each season and forward.
