Report by Zach Hommey The Walkersvile High School Boys Soccer Team secured a 6-1 tonight (Mon., Sep16) at home vs FSK high school. That changed when Shane Fawehinmi got into the box on the dribble and was taken down, earning a penalty kick. James Stier stepped up and confidently put the PK past the keeper. In the second half it was all Walkersville. 5 minutes into the half, Sean Bosco received a ball from James Stier and sent it into the back of the net. The Lions kept things going forward when Shane Fawefinmi drove the endline and slotted a ball to the back post where a composed Yeifferson Mendez was there to find the back of the net. The Lions didn’t let that slow them down. They responded when Evan Boledovic flicked a great ball on that found Daniel Bolanos who buried it into the goal. Boledovic kept going and rounded out the scoring for Walkersville when he ran onto a free kick from Jordan Bosco and took a touch around the keeper and calmly sent it home to give Walkersville a 6-1 win in their home opener. Kollin Purgason was confident in goal for the Lions. He finished with 5 saves in the game.
