The top seeded Northwestern Trojans won a route over the No. 5 South Pointe Stallions 56-21 on the road. Trojan senior KJ Burg kicked off the scoring in the week six match, scoring a short rushing touchdown. As time expired in the first quarter, ECU commit Xavier Means threw a 61-yard touchdown to senior Malik Ratliff to make it a 14-0 game. KJ Burg scored his second on the ground early in the second from three yards out, and soon after, Means threw his second, this one a 40-yard strike to senior Payton Vining. Against the fifth-best team in South Carolina, Northwestern held a commanding 28-0 lead at halftime. Coming out of the halftime break, the Trojans picked up right where they left off. From the South Pointe 12-yard line, Means found Malik Ratliff over the middle to extend their lead to 35 points. The Stallions soon got on the board as senior Braylon Frederick connected with a wide open receiver for a 41-yard touchdown. Throughout the rest of the game, the two teams traded touchdowns, but in the end, it was the No. 1 Trojans who came away victorious, beating South Pointe 56-21. Xavier Means was the story in this one as the senior quarterback completed the day 13/15 with 433 yards and six touchdowns. His longest pass of the day was the 61-yard first quarter touchdown to Malik Ratliff. The Northwestern receiving room had a great day all around. South Pointe, now 2-2, will kick off regional play at home next Friday against the Clover Eagles.
