The Myrtle Beach Seahawks outlasted the Carolina Forest Panthers in a 41-38 overtime win. Kaiden Bridges scored Carolina Forest’s first touchdown of the game on a 10-yard run in the first. They soon after marched back down the field when Christian Bennett punched it in from six yards out to put the Panthers ahead by 14.  Myrtle Beach got on the board for the first time early in the second as JJ Brown caught a seven yard touchdown pass. After a Seahawk interception, Jackson Roach dove into the end zone to complete a 33-yard game-tying touchdown reception. Before the end of the half, Myrtle Beach took a 21-14 lead on a 50-yard pass to Brown for his second touchdown of the game. The Seahawks extended their lead on a one-yard rushing touchdown midway through the third, but on Carolina Forest’s ensuing drive, junior Brady McDowell caught a 77-yard touchdown pass to cut the Panthers’ lead in half. A few minutes later, Panthers quarterback Matthew Kellner took a keeper 15 yards for another tying touchdown, but Myrtle took the lead right back on their fourth passing touchdown.  With nine minutes left in regulation, Christian Bennett scored again on the ground to tie the game once again, eventually proving to be the score that sent this game to overtime. It took just one OT for the Seahawks to secure the win. The Panthers had the ball first and settled for a 10-yard field goal, and almost immediately after, Myrtle Beach capped off a dominant passing performance with their fifth passing touchdown, securing the 41-38 win.  This marked the Panthers’ first loss of the season. Now at 3-1, they’ll hope to bounce back next week on the road against West Ashley. Meanwhile the Seahawks, now 2-2, will try to get above .500 for the first time this season on the road against West Florence in week five.
