The top ranked Northwestern Trojans won a road rout over the No. 9 Berkeley Stags 67-21 Berkeley got out of the gate strong, kicking a short field goal less than four minutes in. A few minutes later, the Stags recovered a fumble deep in Trojan territory, but couldn’t take advantage of the opportunity, and ended the quarter leading 3-0. Down a field goal, Northwestern’s offense woke up, kicking off the scoring with an 11-yard rushing touchdown, and followed that with a 40-yard passing touchdown from Xavier Means to Payton Vining. Later in the quarter, another Trojan rushing touchdown made it a 24-3 game at halftime. The Trojans continued to pour it on from there. Dash Holley scored a pair of rushing touchdowns from sophomore Dash Holley, before Tavion Rust scores from two yards out and Means found Malik Ratiff for another through the air. Berkeley would not go down quietly as the Stags picked up a 60-yard passing touchdown from Henry Rivers to Jordyn Waring, followed by Rivers scoring from six out on the ground. By the end of the quarter, Northwestern held a 53-15 lead. Berkeley scored first in the fourth on a 40-yard rushing touchdown, but Northwestern tacked on two more, one on a rushing touchdown from Brenten Ervin and another through the air from James Dixon to Ahmyr Ratiff. As the clock hit zero, the Trojans secured yet another dominant win, beating Berkeley 67-21. This marked the Stags’ first loss of the season, a streak they’ll work to stop after a bye week at home against Wando. Northwestern remains the top team in the state, a ranking they’ll look to uphold at South Pointe next week, a rematch from their lone loss in the 2025 campaign.
