After being forced to move their game due to weather, the Emerald Vikings handled the Broome Centurions, winning 56-14. Less than a minute into the game, Vikings quarterback Beau Hite found Desiray Christian for a 39-yard touchdown, and the foot was to the floor from there. Emerald scored 49 first half points despite not having starting running back Chris Dean who suffered a season ending injury in the Vikings’ 70-34 week two win over Newberry. Despite the loss, Emerald’s run game was still impressive. Sophomore Joe Moore had a career day, rushing for 146 yards on just seven carries with a trio of touchdowns. Through the air, Beau Hite finished 10/13 with 190 and three touchdowns as well.  Jayden Richardson caught one of Broome’s two touchdowns from 20-yards out early in the game. The Centurions fall to 0-4 on the season, something they’ll look to change in week five at home against Powdersville. Emerald on the other hand rises to 4-0 for the first time since 1997. They’ll look to stay undefeated in their week five match on the road against Lexington.
