Bethesda-Chevy Chase took down North Point thanks to a strong second half, 51-31, to advance to the MPSSAA Class 4A State Final Despite the Barons being the top-seed, they had to travel to North Point, facing the Eagles, who played as the away team on their home floor. The first half saw both sides go back and forth with struggles on the offensive end. North Point kept itself in the game with offensive rebounds on most misses, but were not able to get over the hump as B-CC carried a 17-14 lead into the locker room. Bethesda Chevy-Chase took control in the second with junior Elisha Robinson at the point. The Barons took advantage of North Point senior Morgan Dow picking up a fourth foul and having to sit on the bench. The end of the third quarter and start of the fourth saw B-CC climb up by as many as 25 points and cruise to victory. Bethesda-Chevy Chase advances to its first MPSSAA girls basketball championship game with the victory and will face Clarksburg, which gave the Barons one of their two regular season losses.
