At the end of last season, the Generals fell in the first round of the regional playoffs, losing 3-2 against Dulaney, while the Indians lost in the regional championship in a 3-2 game against the future 3A state runner-up, Westminster. Towson head coach Kelsey Saunders explained that her team successfully spread its offense throughout the entire game. The Generals' six goals in the contest all came from juniors. Lilyann Richard completed a hat trick, while Kate Hudson, Liene Muendel, and Josie Gister each contributed one more. For Franklin, American University commit Nora Tromble scored both of her team’s two goals. Reflecting on the win, Coach Saunders was very proud of the way her team worked together, explaining that “We controlled the pace of the game and had quick, effective passes the entire 60 minutes.” While it was a successful afternoon, she still understands that there is room to improve. In the team’s preparation for their game against Sparrows Point on Tuesday, they will be “working to come out faster and score quicker… also want to improve on our defensive end and keep attackers out of the circle.” The Indians are led by their four captains, Mady Eisenberg, Ella Green, Mae Norris, and Nora Tromble. This afternoon, Franklin is scheduled to travel to Perry Hall. The Gators graduated just three seniors following the 2024 season, meaning that Franklin will have an experienced opponent against which they look for their first win of the year.
