Sherwood High School vs Thomas S. Wootton High

The number one team in the county, Wootton Girls Varsity Volleyball, is reveling in success. Last Thursday, Wootton played the Sherwood Warriors on Senior Night. The Patriots swept the Warriors, stripping them of their first place rank. The Patriots are lead by senior captains, Taryn Su and Sofia Sossa. As a well rounded team, the Patriots were able to keep their composure throughout the game and keep the Warriors from gaining a significant lead. Before going into the game, both teams knew it would be competitive. "We worked really hard in practice in preparation for the game", Malia Bellamy affirmed (Junior middle for the Patriots). Last year, Wootton's Varsity Volleyball team made it to the state championship in which they fell short to North Hagerstown. Nevertheless, the team looks like a promising contender for the state playoffs again. Their next game is tonight against Einstein. Playoff season starts after they play Wheaton on October 23rd and the Patriots are excited to see how far they go.
