Manchester Valley High School defeated Francis Scott Key High School 2–0 — margin of 2.
The Mavs faced another fierce opponent in a county race that is getting more interesting by the day. Entering the half 0-0 FSK thought they had the advantage despite the numerous opportunities created by our mid-field which has had to hobble along for a third game in the absence of seniors Owen Cellitto, Hunter Agostine, and Vince Oxen. The Mavs have seen this type of game all season and were able to refocus, and steel themselves against a hungry FSK team. In the second half, Dayton Siegler scored on a free kick from 30 yards distance. Grant Miller put the game out of reach on an assist from Lino Colin. The defense was fantastic, stout, and helped Joe Peloquin to his sixth clean sheet with 4 saves and 13 shots prevented. All seniors contributed to this very gritty victory on a senior night that celebrated the contributions and HS careers of 12 wonderful seniors and advance the team record to 6-1-2 overall, 4-1-0 county. countysports.zone/scores/view/6_a7JoHd45SmyA9FNWXDc
