Game MPSSAA Class 2A State Tournament of round Round 2

Largo boys basketball's quest for redemption continues after the Lions took down C. Milton Wright, 62-49, in the MPSSAA Class 2A Semifinal. The first half saw the Mustangs try to keep up with Largo, mostly through senior guard Cayne Woodland and his big-time shot making on the outside. Largo carried a 29-24 lead into the locker room and opened things up in the second half. Junior Cam Ward continued his MPSSAA dominance, finishing with 24 points on the evening. Drawing double teams, finding teammates and making key cuts for alley-oops helped the Lions slowly grind out in front. Largo eventually got the Mustangs to run out of gas down the stretch to clinch the victory and move on to a state championship game for the second year in a row. The Lions will face Carver Vo-Tech for the 2A title. Photos: Sierra Ginsburg
