Keira Ward (Sr) scores her first of the year and Avery Aziminia (So) scores her third of the year on a screamer that found the opposite top corner from outside the box. Cougars fall 2-10.
Cougars fall to Brentwood, 2-6. Elli Narciso (So) makes highlight reel PK save while Kassy Uzelman (SR) added a goal and assist to her total for the year. Lydia Williams (Jr) scored the latter goal on the end of a dangerous Uzelman cross.

Centennial drops their district opener despite playing an inspiring 1st half that saw the Cougars hold top ranked Summit for most of the first half. Prayers for Bonnie Clark (Jr) made 8 saves before leaving the game with a wrist injury. Avery Aziminia (So) who came on in support made 5 saves.
Centennial entered the second half of their season on the wrong foot after an hour and a half lightning delay. Lydia Williams (Jr) was able to tap away the lone goal after the initial shot by Ava Price (So) was deflected right into her path. This is Lydia’s 6th goal of the season.
“I think that during this game, we really gave it our all and our desire to win and show that we were better (than we’ve put on in the past) was seen. We did a much better job in this game of fixing mistakes we had made prior in previous games such as winning 50/50 balls more often, connecting nice passes, communicating, and moving off the ball a bit more. Though we played with a different formation than we were used to I think that once we figured out our roles and clarified some questions we worked very cohesively together and ultimately I think that is what led us to victory last night.” - Ava Price (So)
Centennial were aggressive and in the drivers seat for most of their non district game with Hillsboro. Ava Price (So) scored her second goal of the year to put the Cougars on the board via an assist from Kassy Uzelman (Sr) her 9th of the year. Uzelman then doubled the Cougars lead with her 6th goal of the year and that ended up being enough for a 2-1 victory. Centennial will now enjoy the three day weekend before starting the second half of their season on Wednesday against Valor College Prep and kicking off district play on Thursday against Summit.
Centennials comeback bid falls just short as they dropped another non district game. Down 0-3, the Lady Cougars found life with goals from Grace Ashby (Sr) and Avery Aziminia (So) to bring it to 2-3 before giving up a PK in the final minute of regulation to fall 2-4. The Lady Cougars bounce back quickly with a game tomorrow against Hillsboro High School.
Bonnie made 13 saves as the lone shining moment in a loss to Gallatin.
Unfortunately, the Lady Cougars ended their stay in Gatlinburg on the wrong side of the score line. They will look to regroup and prepare for their visit to Gallatin High School on Tuesday.
In the second game of the Smoky Mountain Cup, Dobyns-Bennett came out hot against the Lady Cougars, building a 4-0 lead in the first ten minutes. The Lady Cougars were able to shake it off and regroup to cut the lead to 4-2 by the end of the next ten minutes as Grace Ashby (Sr) and Lydia Williams (Jr) added to their goal totals before things settled down for the last twenty minutes of the half. The Lady Cougars weren’t able to build or maintain momentum in the second half and finished the game 2-7 with Bonnie Clark (Jr) collecting 11 saves. Centennial finishes their Smoky Mountain weekend tomorrow playing the Rhea County Golden Eagles.
The Lady Cougars strolled into Gatlinburg and took in the sights and then quickly made their mark to begin the Smoky Mountain Cup, defeating the Karn High School Beavers 10-1. Lydia Williams (Jr) and Kassy Uzelman (SR) led the night with a hat trick a piece while Grace Ashby (Sr) added 2 goals, and Serena Arsenault (Sr) and Ava Price (So) scored their first Varsity goals. “Tonights game was full of hard work from everyone on the field and strong connections creating opportunities. Everyone was able to contribute and help the team to score. When we play with high tempo and intensity we can confidently move up the field as a team.” said Lydia Williams of the Lady Cougars effort tonight. Centennial continues their Smoky Mountain Cup action tomorrow with another eastern Tennessee opponent, Dobyns-Bennett High School.
The game started for the Lady Cougars with much of the same life seen on Monday v Lebanon but couldn’t be regained after an hour plus lightning delay. The Patriots took advantage with 3 goals in the first half to find the victory but the Lady Cougars did find signs of hope in the 2nd half as they largely held the ball to the Oakland half. Centennial with brush the loss off, heal up, and look forward to a weekend away in Gatlinburg to play for the Smoky Mountain Cup.
The Centennial Lady Cougars kicked off their 2025 campaign at home against the Lebanon Lady Blue Devils. The Lady Cougars attack was relentless, led by Kassy Uzelman (Sr.) scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists and supported by Grace Ashby (Sr.) with a goal and an assist, Lydia Williams (Jr.) with a goal, and Avery Aziminia (So.) scoring her first Varsity goal. Bonnie Clark (Jr.) picked up her first clean sheet of the season making 3 saves on the night. The girls celebrated the first victory of the season but are hungry for more. “ I think tonight went well for us! We worked hard for each other, created tons of opportunities, and in the end were able to put away 5, while keeping a clean sheet; all around solid! Great start to our season and so encouraging to see all our hard work and commitment to the team show on the field tonight, but we aren’t done!” said Uzelman. The Lady Cougars now turn their attention and look to create further new season momentum with a visit to Oakland High School on Wednesday before heading to Gatlinburg for the Smoky Mountain Cup.
