https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6VU_wSqJAs 🏀🏀 ROAD TO UMBC MPSSAA 2A BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP 🆚 (2) SEED vs (4) Cambridge-South Dorchester 📍UMBC, Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena 📝 Kmillz (MFVAllSportsNetwork) Watching the 2025 1A States, I remember the energy present at University of Md College Park, as the coach of SEED screamed for a timeout but the referee’s attention wasn’t alert to it and Cambridge-South Dorchester’s varsity boys were able to hold up the most coveted trophy in a MPSSAA athletic season. The atmosphere was set anticipating whether we were going to repeat the same adventure in 2026. 1ST HALF - Started out with high energy and pace on both teams. A big dunk (which I failed to record) set the tone early for the Sabers. However, the Vikings traveled over two hours to play bayside ball. Shifty and quick turnovers, good rebounds let them to enter the half down by one 25-26. 2ND HALF - SEED displayed to fans they are truly a second half team. The third period being their strongest adding 27 points in it. In the fourth they contributed 13 more points. The 4th for the Vikings was their largest scoring period. They had 18 points, and were able to end the final with a 10 point deficit. SEED stood tall and claimed their first 1A Boys state title in school history defeating the CSD Vikings, 66-56. Proud of all the players, coaches, parents, teachers, and fans; who participated in making this matchup a success. KEEP WORKING HARD, CONGRATS SEED SABERS!!!!

In a tightly contested matchup, CSD held off Patterson Mill for a dramatic 61–60 victory, with the game coming down to the final possessions. CSD carried a slim 33–32 lead into halftime and managed to maintain just enough separation in the second half to secure the win. CSD was led by a balanced offensive effort highlighted by Pinder’s game-high 20 points and Hall’s strong performance with 14 points. Wilson added nine points while Perkins contributed eight to help pace the offense. Thomas and Williams each finished with four points, and Lurans chipped in two. Patterson Mill was powered by a dominant scoring performance from Hammond, who poured in 31 points to lead all scorers for the Huskies. Luddy added 14 points, and Kropp contributed 13 to keep Patterson Mill within striking distance throughout the game. Kai Gibson added two points. The game remained close from start to finish, with neither team able to create significant separation. Patterson Mill trailed by just one point at halftime and continued to battle in the second half, but CSD’s timely scoring helped them hold on for the narrow one-point victory. -Jeroud Clark

Cambridge-South Dorchester will be looking to start off strong to build upon the success they achieved in the 2023 season. The Vikings will match up with North Caroline on the 6th, looking to avenge their opening conference loss to them last season. An eight-game winning streak took the Vikings from a regional quarterfinal loss in 2022 to a state semifinal appearance in 2023, where they were defeated by eventual champions Fort Hill. Will their explosive offense be able to take them all the way to a championship this year?
