Last night, Wednesday February 3rd Brunswick Boys Varsity Basketball played against Boonsboro Boys Varsity Basketball. These two teams had seen each other already with Boonsboro coming out on top. Brunswick, who is having an up year was looking to add to the win column and get some revenge. The game started slow with both teams trying to find their groove, but Brunswick capitalized on some break away points and Boonsboro didn't. Brunswick started fast in the second thanks to freshman Jayvon Moody hitting two threes to put Brunswick up ten fast. Aaron Birney also hit clutch shots to give Brunswick a 30-17 lead at halftime. The second half was no different. Brunswick had their foot on the gas the whole game. Aaron Birney came out hot in the third making what seemed like every shot and playing fantastic defense. Junior Mark Yongbi finally started playing aggressive in the second half for Brunswick grabbing a ton of rebounds and scoring down low. Nick Martinis a junior guard for Brunswick finished great around the rim leading Brunswick to a win over Boonsboro with the final score being 62-47 Brady Renn a senior guard for Brunswick has played phenomenal all season and last night was no different. He's not a flashy player but is a guy you want on your team. Renn is unselfish, passionate, has a good attitude, and is the best re-bounder in the county, only standing at 5'10. Last night Renn and Yongbi grabbed at least 25 rebounds between each other with Renn having at least 10, which played a vital role in Brunswick's win. But every player contributed with Mark Yongbi having 12 points, Aaron Birney with 14, Andrew Jones with 6, Brady Renn with 6, Nick Martinis with 14, and Jayvon Moody with 10.

Brunswick boys varsity basketball played Boonsboro boys varsity basketball Wednesday night 2/19/20. Brunswick played Boonsboro earlier in the year and Brunswick came out on top. Brunswick was looking for the sweep on the year and it looked like they were going too early in the game. Brunswick went up six early with Andrew Jones being dominant early for Brunswick. Boonsboro fought back though, even taking the lead to make it 10-7 at the end of the first. Boonsboro came out hot in the second hitting a few threes and some other tough buckets. But Jackson Dudley answered with a deep three along with threes coming from Nick Martinez and Eli Miller. Brunswick was back in the game but couldn't seem to make a lay up giving Boonsboro the lead at halftime, 23-17. Brunswick fought hard in the third but couldn't stop Boonsboro who was out rebounding and out-scoring Brunswick in every way. Brunswick fell behind by a decent amount and couldn't seem to claw their way back in front. Brady Renn, for Brunswick, tried to do it all scoring six and getting every rebound he could in the final minutes but it wasn't enough. Boonsboro ended up winning avoiding the sweep, 58-47. Brunswick fought hard with Andrew Jones leading the way with 10, point also came from Mark Yongbi, Aaron Birney, Nick Martinez, Jackson Dudley, Jacob Genos, Brady Renn, and Eli Miller.
