Eastern High School rolled into the 2024 DCIAA Flag Football Championship on a mission an executed its plan, running away with a victory over Coolidge, 25-6. The Ramblers and Colts went back and forth with no score breifly to start the contest, but it was Eastern jumping out to a 19-0 lead by halftime and coasting to the win. A blend of hard running, long catch and runs as well as winning aerial duels that helped the Ramblers dominate in this one. The District of Columbia Interscholastic Athletic Association spring flag football playoffs kicked off last week with quarterfinal games, setting up the final four teams for two games next week. Top-seed School Without Walls and No. 3 seed Eastern dominated opening round matchups with shutouts, while No. 2 seed H. D. Woodson escaped McKinley Tech with a 7-0 win and Calvin Coolidge slipped past Benjamin Banneker, 19-13. Woodson and Eastern play at 5 p.m. on Wednesday (April 24) with SWW and Coolidge scheduled to start right after. The winners advance to the DCIAA championship on Friday, April 26.
